Wheat or rye straw embroideries, typical of the island Faial (Azores), are ultimate representatives a European craft very popular in XIX century. Our investigation into cultural use plants Azores presents some examples embroideries and information on raw materials plant origin used by last embroideresses who keep this tradition alive.
